2QQS AND MXP5 FOR TAYLOR AT INDY TRIAL

Thankfully, back in the running

Taylor bounced back from a back injury and crate rest to earn two double Qs and his MXP5 title. The two QQs count as the fourth and fifth toward PAX3, bringing him a quarter of the way towards that goal in just three trials and three months.

The double Qs brought five of the six QQs needed to qualify for the 2012 AKC Agility Nationals, also in just three months and three trials of qualification. He also earned the first leg toward MXP6 and the fifth and sixth legs toward MJP7. Most of all, it was great to see Taylor running like his old self. Seems the rest had done him good.

On Sunday, I had some bad fruit at the hotel and was sick as a dog by the Standard run. Taylor sensed it and pulled more than his tiny weight to get the job done with accuracy, once again showing his ability to step up to the challenge when the chips are down. I treasure every moment with my special little dog lately. At eight years old, time with him seems extraordinarily precious.

Papillon-TOY GROUP - Westiminster Kennel Club 2011

Papillon-TOY GROUP: "Relive the Papillon breed judging at the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show."

Samurai's father Dylan (Wingssong Rock Star) is at 5:05-5:10. I still think he is a gorgeous moving dog, as is his son. Good show, Dylan!

PAX2 CATCH2 Celebration

Two great little dogs have their day (x2).

Recently, my friend Mary and I celebrated a couple of pretty big achievements for our dogs Shae and Taylor. The two mighty munchkins had earned their second high agility titles, both in the span of about a year.

Mary ordered an agility-themed cake which was promptly devoured by well-wishers. Once again proving, if there's anything dog training people like more than dogs, it's cake!

Taylor, and his Yorkie friend, Shae, were turned out nicely for the occasion and we both brought our ribbons and bars to be signed.

It was a nice celebration and we are fortunate to have friends and fellow trainers who understand the effort that went into earning these titles.

Both Shae and Taylor are proof that you don't have to be a large dog to get a big job done (twice!).

Hope both these old friends have many more adventures to share in the years ahead. Both of them show how far you can go on little legs when you have determination.

Samurai earns first title!

From wild child to first performance title.

It wasn't easy and it wasn't a sure thing, but our little Samurai warrior took on the Teacup courses last weekend and came away with his first title, the Teacup Games 1 (TG1). We are lucky to have had the support of a lot of great people along the road to this milestone, and we thank them all.

We don't know what the future holds, but we're happy to have this little dog, who has gone from a hyperkinetic wild child, to being a nice little agility partner and our most affectionate dog.

Thanks Sami for hanging with us and being a good boy.
